Sie hätte mit den Schwestern gezecht, bis sie ein Beilschlag getroffen habe. Der Fuhrmann hatte das Richtige getan, denn mit der neunten Radspeiche war auch die Hexe arg beschädigt worden. Per offrire loro da bere aveva bucato con una formula magica un abete rosso dal cui tronco era sgorgato del vino nuovo, fuoriuscito dalla botte del carrettiere. Rimase a sbevazzare con le sorelle, finché non ricevette un colpo di accetta. Il carrettiere aveva fatto la cosa giusta, visto che, insieme al nono raggio, anche la strega riportò dei seri danni.
