Die sonnigste und begehrteste Langlaufloipe des Skiverbundes Ortler-Skiarena befindet sich, mit 15 Kilometer Länge und einem Höhenunterschied von 150 Metern, zwischen Schlinig und der Schliniger Alm. Für sie wurde in Schlinig Dorf das Servicezentrum mit Skischule, Wachszentrum, Umkleidekabinen, Toiletten und Ausrüstungsverleih errichtet. Das eingeschossige Gebäude ähnelt in Größe und Material der dörflichen Bebauung. Ganz mit senkrechter Holzverschalung versehen sieht es dem Waggon einer Zahnradbahn ähnlich, in dessen Türen man seitlich einsteigt. Dachneigung und Gebäudeform nehmen die Hangneigung auf. Die Zugänge zu den fünf Funktionseinheiten öffnen sich zu einem überdachten Vorplatz an der Talseite, während die gegenüberliegende Seite mit entsprechend abgestuft liegenden Fenstern versehen ist – dadurch fügt sich der Gesamtkomplex ideal in den Hang ein.

Tra Slingia e la Malga di Slingia si estende la pista di sci nordico più soleggiata e frequentata dell’area sciistica Ortler Skiarena, lunga 15 chilometri e con un dislivello di 150 metri. A servizio di questa struttura è stato realizzato, nel paese di Slingia, un centro fondo con scuola di sci, locale di sciolinatura, spogliatoi, servizi igienici e noleggio attrezzatura. La costruzione a un solo piano corrisponde nei materiali e nelle dimensioni all’edilizia tipica del paese. Interamente rivestita di tavole di legno verticali richiama alla mente le vetture di una ferrovia a cremagliera, in cui si entra da una fila di porte laterali. La scala che serve le cinque unità funzionali è preceduta da una zona di accesso coperta verso valle, mentre il fronte opposto a quello di ingresso è ritmato da una fila di finestre anch’esse sfalsate in altezza. Grazie a questi accorgimenti l’edificio si inserisce nel pendio con grande naturalezza.
